About the State Support Center

A nonprofit initiative of S2 Strategies

From cutting energy bills and creating jobs, to increasing local industry’s global competitiveness and reducing emissions, the SSC works to match states with nonprofit implementation partners that know how to help. SSC tracks states' evolving needs and tailors its support, ensuring that the state assistance is targeted and efficient.

Gov building

State governments play a critical role in advancing energy investments that improve affordability, drive economic growth, reduce pollution, and promote equity. However, limited capacity, expertise, and time can constrain their ability to fully leverage available federal and state programs. Providing targeted support that strengthens implementation and enables effective use of state authority is critical to delivering results.

NGO

Many organizations support states in advancing energy goals, but coordination remains a challenge. The SSC connects state officials with implementation partners to improve alignment, reduce duplication, and fill critical gaps. By translating state needs into actionable guidance and better matching partner capabilities to real implementation challenges, the SSC strengthens on-the-ground delivery.

How We Work

The State Support Center supports states by:
